objectives

The objectives of ISIA are:

a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Ipswich and Suffolk (hereinafter referred to as “the primary area of benefit”) and neighbourhood thereof, in particular those of Indian origin without distinction of sex, or of political, religious or other opinions.

i) By associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objects of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants.

b) To advance education and relieve unemployment of the beneficiaries in the area of benefit through the provision of educational and training schemes and facilities.

i) To develop the capacity and skills of the members of Indian origin in such a way that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs and participate more fully in society.

c) To promote preservation of health and hygiene through the provision of educational activities and training.

d) To take such actions as to promote educational, health, social care and employment needs of the community, especially those of Indian origin

i) To improve the conditions of life of the inhabitants of the primary area of benefit, who are in need of such facilities.

e) To promote equal opportunities and good relations between people of different racial groups irrespective of sex, disability, race, age, marital status, sexual orientation, political or religious/faith or of ethnic origin.

f) To provide recreational facilities in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving the conditions of life for those in need of such facilities.

g) To assist beneficiaries in the area of benefit, particularly through the provision of advice and translation services for those in need of such assistance.

h) To do such other lawful things as may be deemed charitable within England and Wales.

i) The Association shall not engage in political or religious activity.

j) The Association shall endeavour to celebrate national festivals/occasions.

k) To establish or to secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain and manage or co-operate with local statutory authorities and voluntary bodies in the maintenance and management of such a centre for the activities promoted by the charity.
